San Vito Lo Capo is located on the northwest coast of Sicily. Characterized by the typical white houses low and, despite having had some building development over the years, in every way maintained the type of fishing village that was at one time.
One of the symbols of the country is the Mother Church, looking squared and massive recalls its birth as a Saracen fortress, which is located on the square Sanctuary. A few steps from Piazza Santuario find Via Savoia, the old town towards the sea. The road for most of the year (May-October), is closed to traffic, and here you can walk in peace and quiet, enjoying the view of climbing plants, wrought iron benches, old stone troughs transformed into planters.
In summer evenings, in addition, the center hosts concerts, conferences and conventions. In parallel to the main roads, which have very different characteristics and type, you can walk relaxing and fun. The waterfront also allows you to walk a few meters from the shoreline of the beach, and so is the way that, after passing the two piers of the port, conducts high lighthouse. This is undoubtedly another symbol of San Vito Lo Capo: at night, the beam of white light coming out of the tower height of 40 meters is up to more than twenty nautical miles, making it one of the most important lighthouses in Sicily.
Approximately 3 km long and enclosed in a small bay between the beautiful Zingaro Nature Reserve and the Reserve of Mount Hood, the beach of San Vito Lo Capo has a fine white sand with golden hues on the shore and is washed by a clear and transparent sea, whose colors vary from light to turquoise.
Signalize, finally, the "Cous Cous Fest" is held every year in September, where many cooks in Sicily, Egyptians, Palestinians, Moroccans, Algerians and Tunisians, participating in a race concludes with a public tasting of the dishes themselves.
